Hand for Chess
A downloadable VR application for Android
This VR game is a novel application that uses hand gesture recognition to help stroke patients with hand paresis perform exercises without the supervision of a therapist. The game requires the patient to make specific gestures with their affected hand. If the gesture is maintained for a specific time, a piece appears on a chessboard. The patient also sees animations and motivating sounds encouraging them to continue the game.
The game was designed and implemented as part of the project "Gra wirtualnej rzeczywistości do rehabilitacji osób z niedowładami i syndromem pomijania" BEA/000064/BF/D funded by PFRON and Warsaw University of Technology.
